Director’s Corner
Since our last edition, our members have once again been busy, amidst summer
activities and vacations. The Chapter Q Panty Run and the Chapter K Picnic
in the Park, have provided us with fun events and enjoyable visits to these
chapters. Our Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and DQ Rides have seated 153 members,
and included a number of area restaurants, our Wendy‟s “Appreciation” Night,
the Murfreesboro DQs, and the Chapter Cookout at Jeff & Teresa Hill‟s home.
We have provided 24 visitors to other chapters in Middle Tennessee. Our July
Gathering was attended by 57 members and guests, with an immediate departure
to Chapter Q‟s event following our gathering. Chapter members have attended
the Illinois and Kentucky Dis-trict Rallies, and made their presence well
known, by our participation and awards earned.
With the year over half over (can you believe it), we‟re looking forward to
some enjoyable activities and great rides...our ride to Randy‟s in Trenton,
GA this weekend; Wings Over Smokies (the NC District Rally); Tennessee
District Picnic; Wings Across Tennessee Overnight Ride; and the Joint
Chapter Fall Color Ride to Sweetwater at the end of October. Speaking of the
Fall Sweetwater Ride, if you plan to attend you may want to book your
reservations at the Magnuson Hotel. We understand there is a lot of interest
from other chapters in this event and rooms may be going fast. Call
800-647-3529 to book your reservations and mention that you‟re part of the
Goldwing Group for that weekend.
Motorcycle sales are up, due to the energy concerns of
the public, and we are
seeing more cycles on the roadways. Many of these riders are inexperienced
and may not know the rid-ing etiquette and safety measures that we have come
to take as second nature, as we ride. As we encounter these riders who are
new to the motorcycling community, speak to them about safety and attending
rider education courses to sharpen their skills and teach them to ride
defensively. And, you may come in contact with motorcyclists who are
candidates for GWRRA membership in GWRRA and our Chapter.
Sloan‟s has conducted their last customer appreciation night for the summer.
They appreciated our support of these events.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions and
participation in our chapter activities and events. All of us working
together is the key ingredient to a Chapter‟s success and we sincerely
“thank” everyone for their support.
