Chapter Director's Comments         

Questions, Questions, Questions 

     As you read this your Chapter Y team is in the process of planning next year’s calendar. That does not mean that this year’s calendar is complete, it just means that we have to get our important dates ready for next year to get them turned in to the District. I know that many of you are already wondering “What can I do to help?” I am so glad you asked. We need to know what you would like to do in the coming year. Do you want more training? What kind of training would you like to have? Do you want more overnight trips? Do you want more day trips? Where would you like to go? Have you got some favorite restaurants that we have not been to, or that you would like to go back to? Do you want to get more ac-tive in Rider’s Ed so that you can reach level 4? Do you want to be more active with the Chapter than you have been this year? Do you want more picnics, go-cart racing, bowling, or just more riding? Are you happy with the amount and kind of activities that the Chapter had this year? What are we doing as a Chapter that you like? What are we doing as a Chapter that you do not like? Are you wondering if I will run out of questions? The whole point is that this is your Chapter. We need your input in order to make it a Chapter that you can be proud of, that you can have fun with, which is doing things that you want to do. We want to meet the needs of our participants, whether those needs are education, relaxation, friendship, fun or all of the above. In order for us to accomplish this mission we need to have your suggestions, ideas, and participation. Now I bet you are wondering, “What is the best way to let my Chapter know my suggestions?” My recommendation is that you send an e-mail to me or one of the Team members that handles a particular area. When you mention something in passing, that is sometimes what happens, it just passes. But if you will send an e-mail we can re-member and refer back to it when we are making our plans. Glenn Kilgore would love to get some e-mail suggestions on Dinner rides. Randy Galloway would be thrilled to get some e-mail suggestions on Retread rides and activities. Tim and Betsy would be enthralled looking at the pictures you sent and reading your suggestions for the scrapbook and web page. Jim and Brenda Sterling would be so excited seeing e-mail suggestions on training. Debbie Kilgore would jump for joy to get suggestions or an article from you for the newsletter. Jeff Hill would jump for joy reading suggestions for MEC. Mac McGlothlin and Allen Wes-sell would do cartwheels reading your education suggestions. Ok, so maybe Mac and Allen doing cartwheels is taking it a little far, but you get the idea. Let us know what you want to do so that we can incorporate as much as possible into our plans. Just remember that this is your Chapter, you can only get out of it as much as you put in to it.
